2009 - 2010 : Happy New Year

I know it have been ages since I wrote and it’s pathetically the same line that I use each time I start writing my blog post. “It's been a while since I blogged, it’s been a while since I wrote anything, it’s been ages since I wrote anything, sorry guys blah blah blah”

However this leads me to insert regular blog post as part of my 2010 resolution. As I blogged before, this is going to be my wish list for 2010 and a recap on 2009.

From my previous post here, I have managed to accomplish at least some of items which I have listed and i'm quite happy about it too. It was not an easy task but I have managed to complete it. Here goes the list:

  1. Get a DSLR - DONE
  2. Change my car (City/Civic/Lancer/Wish/X-Trail) – Cancelled as it’s not practical based on my economical status.
  3. Fly to Australia or New Zealand but this time for real holiday – Change of course to India
  4. Get a Blackberry – Changed my mind to Sony Ericsson Satio
  5. Buy another house – Not needed and practical
  6. Register rujjcoomarh.com - Postponed
  7. Complete SAP - Postponed
  8. To direct at least 5 music videos - DIRECTED 3 – Few more under discussion
  9. To complete at least 2 short movies - COMPLETED 1, postponed other projects due to photography interest and learning process
  10. Prepare a full length story to shoot – Postponed until further notice

If you go through the list you will find that there are some resolutions that I have decided to postpone. Come to think about it those resolutions is something that is not necessary for the moment hence I have decided to either postpone it or call it off once and for all. Below are some of the 2009 items/activities which I have completed without planning or list in my wish list. Some are just meant to happen just like that and some are pre-planned.

  • Going to India – This trip was all of a sudden as I have thought of going to India anytime. But after stepping my foot in India, I was so astonished and mesmerized with the country and its people. Aint no joke they call the place Incredible India.
  • Getting more active with photography – I have to thank Vickneswaran for this. He has helped me so much in creating the interest of photography in me and at the same time he was never stingy in sharing all his knowledge with me. One thing I like about Vicky is he was never angry or irritated over my numerous idiotic questions on technicality of photography and its details. Thanks Brotha! Hidup VIP Studios!
  • Meeting Venkat Prabhu, Premji Amaren, Aravind Akash, Sampath and the whole team of Goa and become really good friends – This I have to thanks Devan and Jay. Never in my dream have ever dreamt that I would meet these people and experience the whole movie shoot. It has made me learn a lot of stuff technically and practically on movie making. We became so close that we will call each other to well wish.
  • Learning how a full length feature film is made from Sakthi Saravanan sir. One of the most talented and award winning cinematographer cum cameraman in India. He is one of the best I would say. I hope to meet PC Sreeram sir one day
  • Meeting allot more people who have helped and going to help me in my interest of direction, cinematography and photography.
  • Join Fitness First. Hahah this was totally unplanned and but I have my target.
  • Recent photography workshop with Karthik Venkatraman - DOP of Maniratnam and Asst Cameraman of PC Sreeram. He has actually changed the way I look at things and I have never seen such a humble but knowledgeable person yet he is so young. I do not want to compare with some. P/s: you want to see his work, check out some photos of Paa the Movie (Amitabh and Abishek Bachans new movie)
  • Moving into my own house finally and it was like a dream come true.
  • Last but not least MahLeh - As I have mentioned before I just do not how to thank all the people who have helped me in completing Mahleh but it was a life changing experience.

So have you all read my post mortem for the year of 2009, I may have missed some points or events intentionally. Looking forward for 2010 as norm I have a list which I hope that I could accomplish by end of the year. This year going to be an excellent year for me on every aspect and will be a life changing one too. Here goes my wish list for 2010:

  • BLOG REGULARLY!
  • Invest and get more lenses for my camera
  • Direct at least 3 short movies and send for entries at least one
  • Rujjcoomarh.com
  • Change my car
  • Move on with career
  • Revamp and rebrand Arkay Productions (on going now)
  • Complete my Direction/Cinematography course
  • Expand the network of Arkay Productions
  • Undisclosed plans

So I hope that I could reach my goals and tick off my wish list before end of 2010. Not forgetting to all my enemies, well wishers, readers and followers, I will make sure that I will blog regularly and keep my post updated to the most. I shall not repeat my mistakes again.

Thank you for being with me and Arkay Productions family all this while. We are going to rock 2010!!

Happy New Year and Jah Bless!

Astro’s apathy putting customers’ lives in danger

reproduced article

MY Astro service was giving me problems as there were no images. I called Astro Customer Services and they assured me that their technician would return my call.

They gave me the report number, saying that it was essential for the technician to quote the number before making an appointment with me and entering my premises.

The Astro technician called me and read back the report number and informed me when he would come by to check on the problems. I was comforted by that.

At the first scheduled appointment he did not show up. This caused me problems as I had taken a day’s leave for the technician.

I called the same technician and made another appointment for the next day. Again I took a day’s leave and fortunately, he showed up.

He quoted the report number. Astro Customer Services had assured me that the one who got the number correct would be the authorised technician.

He took several hours as in midway he had to go to get the remote as he claimed he had not brought it with him. Another full day went to waste.

He did some repairs and charged me a certain amount. But, then that night, my television programmes had technical problems again.

I called Astro and they said they did not know who the technician was that came to my place and assigned me a new technician. I had to apply for leave a third time.

The new technician said the previous technician was an intruder. My life and that of my children’s were actually at stake. Astro took the matter lightly.

The new technician even said he was aware of such an intruder but could not pinpoint the leak in Astro. He even mentioned the bogus technician’s name.I was even further shocked when the technician told me that Astro was aware of the bogus technician who had done several dodgy jobs for Astro customers.
When I checked with Customer Services, they reluctantly admitted that they were aware of the bogus technician for some months now.

I am shocked that Astro did not take the necessary safety measures to safeguard its customers.
To make matters worse, Astro Customer Services personnel said they have to get approval from higher ups to reimburse the money I paid the bogus technician.I had to take three days leave and had to live with the fact that my family and I could have been robbed, raped or even murdered as a result of Astro’s negligence.
It is pointless for Astro to keep raising their fees when they provide such bad service and put their customers’ lives at risk of danger. To add insult to injury, it does not seem to care.

WORRIED ASTRO CUSTOMER,
Petaling Jaya.

8 reasons of cheating

Sometimes, when the going gets tough, the tough get it on with someone else. But what really makes men stray? A nagging girlfriend? Bad sex? An escape from loneliness? Yes, yes and yes. Hear why these men slipped away from their girlfriends and landed in someone else's bed. Then — whether you're a guy or a girl — use the info below to sidestep this kind of situation in your love life.

Reason #1: For payback
"I once cheated on my girlfriend after I saw on her cell phone that she had been text-messaging with her ex. They were pretty harmless messages, but it angered me that she had been communicating with him in the first place — I'd always thought they were a little too chummy. That night, I was out with friends and had a lot to drink. I got so worked up about those messages that I pretty much made it my mission to find another girl and hook up with her, which I did. I think it was a payback thing. We eventually broke up, but not because of that incident — I never told her — but more so because we just weren't right for each other. I know it wasn't the best way to handle my anger, but at the time, it sure did feel good."
— Christopher, 29, Oakland, CA

Reason #2: The physical attraction just isn't there
"Ever since I can remember, I have always been attracted to women with large chests. My ex-girlfriend was great in a lot of ways, but she was completely flat-chested, which did absolutely nothing to make me sexually attracted to her. I tried to look past it, but it was hard. About two months into our relationship, I was out with a bunch of friends at a sports bar, and our incredibly hot and ample-chested waitress was really hitting on me. She gave me her number and asked me if I wanted me to meet her after her shift was over. I agreed, and ended up sleeping with her. It was just a one night thing, but it helped me realize I needed to end things with my girlfriend, because I had to be with someone I was madly attracted to."
— Dave, 26, Roanoke, VA

Reason #3: She just isn't there
"I cheated on my ex at a time when she was traveling so much that I never saw her. It was almost as if I didn't have a girlfriend. I got so lonely — especially on the weekend nights, and I missed that companionship, both physically and emotionally. When she was gone, I began seeing someone else while I was still technically seeing my ex. I ended up telling my ex and she broke it off with me. In the end, I think things ended for the better, even though the steps I took to make it happen weren't very honorable. I now make sure that whoever I choose to date doesn't have a job that requires big-time traveling."
— Scott, 30, Jessup, MD

Reason #4: He thinks he's missing out
"I had dated Melanie all through college ever since we met at orientation. After we graduated, I moved to New York and she moved to Chicago, but we decided we'd stay together. I spent nearly every weekend traveling to see her, but during the week, I'd go out with my friends in New York and have a blast. After a few months of that drill, I knew staying true to her would be tough; going out in the city made me realize how many smart, beautiful women are out there, and never having been with anyone other than Melanie made me feel like I was missing out on a lot of fun. One night I hooked up with another girl, which finally made me realize I had to end things with Melanie. I told her what happened, and, as it turned out, she had done the same thing a few times. While we were both hurt, we realized we needed to take some time off. We stayed friends, and still are today, even though we're married to different people."
— Tom, 35, New York, NY

Reason #5: He's moved on emotionally
"I met my ex in a Weight Watchers meeting, of all places. When we started dating, we were both about 50 pounds overweight. As the months went by, I took the program really seriously and quickly dropped weight. She didn't adhere to the program, and her weight didn't come off. After I lost the weight, I felt this new sense of confidence — women who had never spoken to me before began approaching me, and it felt great. My ex, on the other hand, was depressed about being heavy, and was always jealous of other women. One weekend when she was out of town, I met this gorgeous woman at my gym and we slept together. I never told my ex, but I did end up breaking up with her a few weeks after that incident. I've realized since then that I need to be with women who are on the same page as me about the things in my life that are important."
— Brad, 41, Houston, TX

Reason #6: There's too much fighting
"My ex and I used to live together, and we fought all the time. The constant tension made me miserable. In contrast to my ex, there was a girl at work who was easygoing, friendly and fun. One night we were both working late and ended up getting a drink together after we left. One thing led to another, and I ended up staying over at her place. As bad as this may sound, after that happened, I felt free. It was as if I finally had the courage to just end it with my ex already. When I came home the next morning, my ex went crazy, but for the first time, it didn't bother me, because I knew what I was going to do. I told her exactly what had happened and that I'd be moving out that week, and I did. I began seeing the girl from work, and we've been together for about four months now."
— Nate, 34, Boulder, CO

Reason #7: He needs a shot of self-esteem
"I'm really shy, and have never felt very comfortable approaching women. I once had a girlfriend who was just as shy as me. Our relationship was fine — nothing too exciting — but I was resigned to the fact that it was my best option. I went to a conference for business, and during one of the dinners, a really attractive, sexy woman at my table began hitting on me like mad. I was so shocked; nothing like that had ever happened to me before. It made my self-confidence skyrocket, and I felt on top of the world. She and I were together that night and a few other times during the conference. I never told my ex about what had happened, but I did end things with her a few months later. After the conference the other woman and I never saw each other again, but the experience gave me the confidence that I could go out and approach interesting, exciting women — I just needed that push."
— Charlie, 33, St. Louis, MO

Reason #8: To fulfill a fantasy
"I once cheated on my girlfriend of six months when a girl I had been pining over for quite some time came on to me. She had been with someone else for a long time, so I knew she was off-limits. I have to admit, I'd still probably do it again; it was like my fantasy finally came true. I broke up with my girlfriend and dated this girl for a while, but we didn't last. Sometimes, the fantasy is better than the reality!"
— Mark, 44, New York, NY

A big thank you Guys!

This post is a thank you note or I would say an appreciation note to everyone who has helped me in making Mahleh possible.
Firstly I would like to thank my family, my sister and my other half Ammu kutty.
Special thanks to

Jay and Vignesh - helping me throughout the shoot. To act under my direction with no payment heheheh and manage to put up with all my nonsense and Vignesh for the story idea, ya maan!
Apit – for letting us to use his house to be used as our set
Sharon – for coming over last minute to act
Rajboy Arumugam – Bro words just can describe how much you have helped me. Though I known you a very short period of time, you actually sat with me for almost 7hours for the music session and making Hanusha to sing. There are some people who claimed to be our friend but we realised it was the other way around.
Kelvin Anthony – Macha thanks a lot for capturing for me. You always been there when I needed advise and help from you macha.
MC Bullet of Bullet Productions – Helping me to design Mahleh poster. I just don’t know how to repay you brotha, One Love.
Aravind Akash (rinku) – For that excellent technical knowledge and your honest feedback shared over the phone. Its nice to hear such comments from you bro. I promise to make a better one next.
Sasitharan Chanderan – Thanks for coming over last minute and for all that feedback
Kalyana Devan – For all the feedbacks and suggestions and Big Thanks for bringing the CD to India brotha!
For all my friends how have been supporting me and encouraging me to make this movie. Though this was planned and written in like 2 hours, we manage to pull it out and this wouldn’t have happen without you guys.
I would like to apologise sincerely as Mahleh didn’t make it to be one of the finalist in Astro Vellithirai Short Movie contest. But this is not the end. Failure is the first step for success!
Last but not least for all those who are disturbed and angered over our effort in making our local film industry shift to another level, to those who hates me personally and professionally, enemies, to those who think the world belongs to them, to those who assumes that you are in control. To some whom I dared and felt threatened. Let me tell you this, I know you guys will be laughing and making fun of my first short movie and also for not being listed as the finalist after all the hype created, I don’t two ferks bout you!

What’s the difference?

I know most of you are terribly confused of our Indian rituals and rites when it comes to wedding preparation. Sadly some just don't understand about it or even take initiative to actually get the facts into their head. Well allow me to provide information on the differences that is involved before getting married but do remember that this is not a targeted post so please don't feel offended if at any point I mentioned f*** you, or you f**** don't understand, stu***, this and that because that's not meant for you.

Before someone actually walks into the married zone there are few rituals involved and I am talking about Indian wedding.

First one is called ponne pakeran which means the whole bridegroom family will go to the bride’s house to see and verify that this is the girl that the guy going to get married to and then they will discuss when they can come and do the nitchayam. Usually this is meant for arranged marriage because the groom’s family will get to know that there is a single girl who is waiting to get married and looking for mappilai, so this applies to them. They will go to the girls house to see the girl and let the parents of the girl know if they want to go on with this providing everyone likes the girl. This does not apply for love marriage but of course sometimes our Indians fellas are extremely smart they still want to follow the step of ponne pakeran thingy even though they have met the girl like 20 times.

Secondly and importantly is the second ritual. Its called nitchayam. KEEP THIS IN YOUR MIND. NITCHAYAM IS NOT THE SAME AS ENGAGEMENT!!! Nitchayam is actually to confirm to the bride’s family that they are going to get their son married to this girl and this is the day where they will decide on which date they want to held the marriage and how much dowry if any to be given and who is going to do what, the budgeting etc. it's a confirmation that the girl and the guy will get married. No exchange of rings only words. So got it? If anyone says that engagement and nitchayam is the same, they deserve a bitch slap from me.

The third ritual would be the engagement. Yes this is when they will exchange rings and can be considered as half married. So to all those players, this is the stage where you guys should tie up your dick and stop gallivanting around. At the engagement is when the gold with be exchanged, the thali will be given ( this one im not sure ) and many other things will be discussed. There are some situations where arguments and fights will happen during engagement, due to some old bus3rds who thinks they controls the situation and start talking cock. Stirred situation, some weddings even have stopped at the engagement stage. Anyway to cut the crap, you know what engagement is right, exchanging rings and getting married, partially.

Finally is the wedding. Do I have to explain this further?

Where have I been?

Lately I have not been writing or updating my blog. In fact, it have been very long since I essentially did anything for myself. The reason? Practically my life and everything around me was in a mess all this while and it took me this long to actually sort everything out and settle down. Well I wouldn't say I have settled down entirely, but I’ve manage to solve some of the issues. Glad that all of it is cleared now.

Currently I’m in the midst of rebranding Arkay Productions and designing its website, name cards, brochure and many more. While doing that, we are also widening our entertainment business network from Malaysia to India. In recent times, I have manage to meet most of the local entertainers from different genre and categories, and they willingly shared their stories of growing and surviving in this industry. Arkay Productions family would like to extend its gratitude to all the local artiste who have shared their experience and agreed to work hand in hand with us in near future.

We are also quite saddened with the demise of Director Yasmin Ahmad recently and Arkay Productions family would like to convey its condolences to her family and may god bless her soul. She is one of our inspiration especially me to create artistic movies with full Malaysian values. So what have I been doing all this while?

During the process of rebranding , I have also met some of the bigwig artiste from India and got involved with them in their movie shoot. A big budget movie which will be released this December or maybe January. Thanks to some of my friends who made it happen, it was like a crash course for me to learn so many new stuff and technology in this filmmaking world. Learned how they actually work and dealt with the real thing. Though it was short period of time but everyone was so friendly became so close. From the director, to the actors and even the cinematographer. Some of the technical staffs such as the cinematographer who have won few awards in India and the line producer, are all so friendly and we had so much fun together. The director, who came from India’s one of the most prestigious entertainment family, had no ego even a drop of it. I never expected that to happen to me. Though I had dreams of getting involve in a full fledge movie shoot, I am still surprised and shocked it happened so fast. Have no words to express that joy.

Until the movie release, I won’t be able to reveal anything about the director, artiste, movie title, storyline or even photo’s. That was the gentlemen agreement between me and the director. But time to time you will be able to read a lot of news and view more photos regarding this movie. Next on the line, we at Arkay productions family hope that we could collaborate with them to come out with something amazing.
So now I’m back on track, my next plan is to create few short movie’s and for now we have 2 music videos to be completed. The stories have been completed and lean-to it will be preparing the script and storyboard before we be able to roll the camera. Though we have finalized few talents for all the roles involved, we have yet to decide on the locations but I’m confident that we can resolve that issue.

I would like apologize for not updating this blog, I hope that I could keep up to my promise to update this page or at least find some time to do so.

I Got High

*This is inspired by Afroman's I got High but this is the shitty version of mine*

In the journey to success, I ditched so many people
I know its wrong but I do know why,
Bcoz I got high..Bcoz I got high..
As I see some ladies sleeping around..
I bet they know why..
Tired of sleeping they try weeping..
That I know why but I dun give a dip
Bcoz I got high ...Bcoz I got high
People using facebook to express their love
I use facebook for some reason i dont know
Then I laughed so hard coz I know why
Bcoz I got High ...Bcoz I got high
I see some fat asses posing for camera,
I dont wanna get high..
They think they are hot chick.. shit
I dont know wanna get high..
Coz I rather download torrent of mumbai models
Bcoz now I wanna get high...I wanna get high
Thanks to Mumbai.. I got high..
Got so many friends ..
some are good some are bad
Cheez, most just spit crap..
I just walk pass them by
Bcoz I got high..Bcoz I got high..
I havent hang the photos in my house
Been 3months since I moved into my new house
I just dont know..
Maybe im just high
I got high I got high..Bcoz I got high..
While you are reading this you want me to stop this and say byebyebye
I wont do that coz I got high.. I got high
I have no reason to write this ..
Why im writing this, I dont know why
I dont wanna know why
Bcoz I got high I got high..
Its just shows that I got no life
And I cant write lyrics
But I dont give a damn of what ya say
Bcoz I got high I got high...
Ok stop that shit you blardy rajkumar..
Its time to give all a break coz this aint no lullaby
OKk im done this is my last liner
After this im gonna get high..
Bcoz I wanna get high..I got high..

Tribute to Michael Jackson

*Acknowledging Rames.blogspot.com for the pic above*

I think that year was 1988-1989, when I was still warming up benches in my school there was a man who warmed up my heart by infusing the essence of dancing in me. The man was Michael Jackson. How I was introduced to Michael Jackson? Through Weird Al Yankovic, yeah the same guy who mocked Bad video. I was having the idea that he was Michael Jackson, but I got it all wrong. I asked my uncle who is a music lover, who is this guy? He told me that this guy is a jackass who makes fun of others. This video that he is dancing now is actually done by Michael Jackson. I continued asking him, “Who is Michael Jackson?” Immediately my uncle took me to his room and showed all the videos and played all of MJ’s songs.

I was stunned. Wow, can a human actually dance like this? How he did that? How he moved backwards? So many questions started running across my little mind, clueless on who is this guy and how can someone actually dance like this. At that time, I remember watching MC Hammer dancing, but it didn’t stay in my mind like how the moonwalk did. Every day I will finish up my homework’s just to watch Thriller video, Bad, Beat it repetitively without fail. Thriller was released in 1982, when I was a baby. I do have goose bumps when I listened to Vincent Price’s voice in Thriller until I reach my 20’s. Since then I started listening to all of Michaels previous albums and songs, and his videos without fail. Then slowly my dancing interest fueled up and I started dancing.

Life in fast forward, Michael Jackson may be someone that don’t know me personally, but my heart always have the highest regards for him. He is one man of determination, despite the numerous allegations and legal battles between him and some seed-brains, he kept on fighting and entertaining the world. You may not know god, but you will know who is Michael Jackson. Everyone from every part of the world recognizes him, in fact there were even a news where one part of rural Africa don’t know who Michael Jackson is, how he looks like, never heard of his songs in their life but they know what moonwalk is. Even though moonwalk was started off in late 1960’s ( yes, MJ is not the first one who’ve done it) but it was improvised and popularized by Michael Jackson. Growing up from a African American heritage, Michael Jackson became one of the first black American’s song to hit off the chart in billboard, videos being played in MTV, 500 million copies of record sales, 50 over millions copies of the album Thriller sold worldwide and many other. You can Google all about him.

Let’s forget about all the plastic surgeries that he did for himself, his child molestation case ( which was not true) It was blatant lie! The kid confessed recently over the news saying that MJ didn’t do anything to him, the boys dad asked him to lie about MJ just to make money, and the world believed him. Michael Jackson may not be here with us anymore, but everyone in this world actually cried for him including me. The last time I actually had tears was when my brother Mogan passed away and now for Michael Jackson. When I came into office the other day I heard the news and I was shocked. How can Michael Jackson die? He is immortal; he cannot die. He is Michael Jackson. I was watching live news from CNN all the way and Hitz.fm while driving back. The whole day was so gloomy and there were no sun at all. I never felt so sad for someone like this before, I switched on the radio and they played Wanna be startin something. That was one of my favorites since I was small. My heart was so heavy and my eyes starting tearing. Though I didn’t cried out loud, but I did teared for Michael Jackson. Why? I do not know. I just think that he shouldn’t have died in the first place.

The next thing I did was to call Sarath, and he couldn’t talk, he was so sad. Sarath is my best friend and he can actually dances like Michael Jackson when we were young. Sarath and me used to analyze how does the moonwalk work, and try to imitate that. We learned exactly how MJ would have done it. Yea, tell who don’t know the moonwalk or the thriller steps or even the beat it moves. The thriller moves are so famous that sometimes they will even play in the clubs where everyone will start dancing the exact same way like in the video.

Like the line goes, another day has gone, I’m still lone alone, how could this be, you are not here with me, I never say goodbye, someone tell me why, did you have to go, and leave my world so cold. MJ is no more with us anymore but he is always in one corner of our heart. Before this, even though we don’t talk or discuss about MJ, I still know that he was alive at one corner of the world breathing but now when you mention his name, he is history.
This was the exact thing what Kelvin told, another good friend of mine who couldn’t move his day forward on 26th June. In august this same date 29th would be Michael Jackson’s 51st birthday. I remember what Flava Flav said “God needed angels so one day he came and took Michael away to work for him” . In my life, I have met so many people who actually made fun of Michael Jackson, but I don’t care about what they say, because as far as I know MJ is one man who rocked the world. Even some of the artist now, followed the footsteps of MJ for instance like Usher, JT and many more. He initiated that sales of album through terrific music videos, brought together every human from every part of the world together. One of my favorites would be They don’t really care about us video, Billie Jean, You are not alone and many more.

So he we are, the world without Michael Jackson. I had a dream to meet him one day, but it didn’t come true. I know he is not dead yet, he will always stay alive in all his fans heart, his dance and his music for the world. Thank you Michael for being my dance guru, my inspiration. It is sad to think about how unlucky the next generation will be for not knowing you or your contribution. For the kids in future, you will remain history and but for all of us you will remain as how you are, Michael Jackson The King of Pop.

Magnificent India – Day 2

It was so bright and the time was only 6.00am. I thought I got up late but when I looked at my watch the time was 6, damn. In summer, the days are longer and nights are shorter. Something different, especially in an Asian country. So there came 2nd day of my trip.

I realize that the people in the village will have a bedcoffee before they even brush their teeth. Ladies will be walking around with kudam to fetch water from public pipes. There is no more the hand pump type like those days, its tap now. They call it the nallathanni meaning good water or clean water. This is the water they use to drink and cook. Its free provided by the government. Oh not only that, in India, the education is free if you are studying in public schools or university, water is free, electricity is also free in some places. Today we just stayed in the village since there was a festival going on. A typical village temple festival, just like the on in the Paruthi Veeran movie. Huge chariots, approximately 50000 people with only 4 policemen. Yes I aint kidding, there was only 4 policemen to cover that 50000 people. I was thinking about thaipusam here in KL. They will bring down all the policemen in the country, then they will have FRU, thousands of RELA flers, not forgetting CID singarams who thinks they are James Bond and many more.

I made friend with a Sub Inspector, his name was SI Anbalagan. He actually reminded us of ACP Anbuchelvan, same style of talking and walking, stiff and strict, well educated and passion towards the job. I asked him does he get any problems from the politicians like how we watch in the movies, he said yes. But he is not bothered, for his 10 years experience they have transferred him to almost 28 police stations. I was stunned. We were stunned. He was so cool and said, what else they can do apart from transferring. Adding to that, none of the police there was actually smiling and giggling, there were all serious and tough. Tamilnadu police na kokka!
I met the panchayat head who is a retired civil engineer and yes he have 18 villages under his control. He proudly told me that in those villages there is no police station and sarayam shop (toddy shop). Even if a police would want to capture anyone they need to get this leaders permission to enter the village. Fuh, powerrr.. The it was evening and we were chit chatting with everyone there waiting for the chariot to move back to the temple.

That night there were concerts and pattimandram, exactly like Leoni’s one. The speakers were outstanding, they can sing, crack jokes, be serious, give message, you name it they can do it. It’s nice to see so many talented people there, unlike some horsedicks who thinks they are experts in what they do. But when you give them one dialogue to act, they will look at the script as though its written in French. Ok that’s another story for another time. I had my dose of valaka bajji, chili bajji and barota’s through out that day. Awesome food it was.

Did I tell you that I was riding bike while I was in India. Its Bajaj Pulsar and Yamaha. Pulsar is the same one that Dhanush rode in Pollathavan. Didn’t get the chance to meet any Dhivya or Ramya there.L

Magnificient India - Day 1 - Part 2

Upon arrival, the first ever temple we went to was Srirangam Renganathar temple. If you are wondering which temple, its the exact one which appears in the opening scene of Dasavatharam and the perumal a.k.a Renganathar is in a sleeping position in this temple. The temple was so huge that you can go around the temple and the rajagopuram can be seen from Nasa satellite. When you enter the temple you will be able to see some photographs taken from NASA which shows the gopuram appears to be perfectly alligned and at its exact propotion. Seeing is believing! Of course they had 3 different entrance to pray, free entrance, Rs25 and Rs50. You are actually paying to cut-q. Yes, absolutely you are paying to skip the crowd and queue to stand in front of perumal and pray, inside the shrine. Im not kiddin. For those who have been to India, knows what Im talking about.
People tend to make money in any way that they could. There are some temples where if you pay more like Rs500, you can even hug the god and pray. Heheheh. From Srirangam moved to Samayapuram. The temple is named as Samayapuram Mariamman Temple. Its predicted that this temple was built around 18th century, but I am not really sure of this.

Final destination before we head to the village was my ultimate favourite, Uchipillayar Temple. You will be able to see this temple from your flight if you are landing in Trichy. Its at the tip of a rock hill which is around few billions years old. Its the rock mountain is that old, not the temple. :) Its in the Rockfort town, very near to the airport actually. At the top, you will be able to see the whole of Thrichy city and Renganathar temples rajagopuram. I dont want to eloborate too much, being there is the ultimate feel.

We left Rockfort around 7pm reached the village about 9pm.

Magnificent India - Day 1

Reached Thiruchirapalli International airport. It’s a new building which was opened few weeks ago as their expansion project. We had to go through Influenza scanning as India and Malaysia have been identified as infected country. The moment I walked out of the airport, I felt so excited and happy. It’s some sort of mixed feeling just like in the movies and with that heat and smell of sand. Got into our Tata Sumo and drove off. The first thing I heard was the sound of the honking drivers. Its madness, they keep honking and honking nonstop. The reason they do that is to inform another driver that he is either at the back of him, going to overtake, taking a turn, going to stop.

Since no one follows traffic rules in India, honking is the only method of communication in between the drivers and other road users. I was looking outside the car window and saw small huts called as “kudusai” in Tamil, surprisingly equipped with satellite dish and tv. Who said India is poor, no they are not. They have all the resource and money, sadly sometimes they failed to either appreciate it or don’t know how to utilize it.

It took us 2 hours to reach the village called as Silathur. To make it simple, India > Thiruchirapalli > Pudhukottai > Arathangi > Silathur. Or in other words its like Malaysia > KL > Klang Valley > Bangsar > Taman Bukit Pantai. I was under the impression that the village will be that typical ones just like in the movies and I was abit freaked out on how am I going to shit. You know in village they shit in open field and bathe either at the river or motor-pump.

Guess what? I was absolutely wrong! The village is so beautiful and modern. Houses here looked like bungalows, double storey, triple storey, fully aircond, toilet inside the house, cable tv and everything that a modern home will have. I asked our host how come this place doesn’t look like a village, he said that everyone who lives there are all working in overseas. For instance the neighbor of our host is a chemical engineer in US. Most of them are working in USA, UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi. No doubt they could build such a huge house.

And no there were no kids running at the back of our car when we arrived. We were received well by everyone and was so happy that I came. We ate talked and time to sleep. For the note, we are 2.5 hours ahead of India timing.

Aanava Aattam – The Review

It’s been a while since I wrote a review about our local Indian movies. It’s just that these days I don't have any idea to write about anything. Now you know the reason why my blog is not updated for such a long time. I bet some of my readers would have stopped visiting my blog.

Okay today I would like to write a review about Aanava Attam. Our own ‘mannin mainthargal’ product. Before I proceed, allow me to tell you briefly on who is drawn in for this movie. Its directed by K.K Khanna, I bet most of you know Khanna as a good cinematographer and a very good singer indeed. Try listening to Paarvai Unnei from Uruvam. Then we have Vassan – one of the famous dancer in Malaysia, some say he is Malaysia’s Prabhu Deva but I don't think that is fair to label him like that. Though he may have several style of dancing which is comparable to Prabhu Deva, naming him as Malaysian Prabhu Deva.. nah not my cup of tea. But I do have to agree that he is a good dancer. Following that we have C.Kumaresan as Inspector Badrinath then we have Amos Raja, Rudemack, Ramesh, Najib, Wisva, Nishan, Maney, Lovin, MC Va, Suria (oh gosh), Manivannan – good to see him on screen after so long, and many more. Music is handled by Lawrence, story by Vassan himself. Nagen became the DOP. Produced by Theinmozhi & Sungra (SKTS).

Even the story does not have a specific goal or message to deliver, the lines actually touched each other on a meek tone. As usual the movie has Indian youth problem, gangsters and love. I felt like they tried to feed the audience with our mouth full. The story evolves about Eiswar and his friends, the college seniors who have finished studying but still loitering around in the college. Five of them are very good friends but from the beginning, there is no positive side made known about them. So indirectly they were like useless youth who creates problem. I’m still not sure why they actually brought up the topic that their parents neglected them etc. Here they put me on a blur mode. Next we have Geetha who falls in love with Eiswar from the persuasion of her friends, Sri and Latha. One day Geetha will go to Eiswars house to confess her love to him, but he will rape her and later he will sell her to some so-called black guys for a drug deal. (these fellas are Indians…believe me :P)

I don't want to elaborate too much on the storyline but it's a good watch though. The camera works are impressive as we have Khanna who have been in this industry for a long time, so with that we can see his experience talks here. Vassan was very natural and he played his role well. In fact he performed well and manage to carry his task to the fullest. Our heroine Lovin need a lot a lot alotss of practice. Then followed by C.Kumaresan who plays the cop role alongside with him Soman, nice style but I think some part was abit over exaggerated . Plus why Kumaresan have to be a policeman in every single movie?

On a positive note, the movie is very different from other movies which is currently in the industry. I am saying different because of its added advantages such as the BGM, camera works, locations NOT the storyline. It's the same old story with new faces. Oh yes how can I forget that, I have applaud the director and his team for casting all new faces for this movie. Most of them are rappers and singers example The Villanz, Mc Va and so on. So it’s good that they actually gave them opportunity to act. Adding to that I was very surprised to see no Tamil cinema song was played in the movie even as its background music. Every song in the scenes are from local albums. Good Good, hats off for that. I really like the background music for Kumaresan, very groovy and smooth.
Keep up the good work to Khanna and his team, you can do better!

Hang on, we are not done yet. Let’s see what is the setback for this movie, but before I start I would like to tell that this is merely my observation and that doesn't mean I am demeaning or finding fault. So please don’t get angry or upset with me, then come and give me reasons. I bet there will be some morons who will say things like “oh when people do movie, you don't support but then talk cock” or “..you think you great is it?? Why not you try to act?” I am a director myself and I know how much effort and time a team need to spend to create and shoot a scene. The reason I’m giving the negative side of this whole thing so that in future everyone can learn and improve including me.

Okay?

Firstly our actors need practice. Yes it can be senior artiste to newcomers, they don't practice their scenes and dialogue. Most of them, I’m not categorizing everyone but most of them. When the actors are given the script, the production team have to conduct workshops and rehearsal sessions as much as they can. This will break the ice between actors and vast improvement can be seen in their flow of dialogue. That is why sometimes when you watch some local movie, you tend to get bored. Because the dialogue delivery timing is dreadful. That can only be improved with huge amount of practice. For instance, in Aanava Attam, there will be scene with Geetha and Mani talking. It’s supposed to be a casual conversation but they made it look so tensed because of their dialogue delivery and its timing was really bad. Every single directors and actors should take that into count. Sorry Lovin but you got long way to go and Ramesh, stop being stiff in front of camera, it looks like you are covering macho, brother.

Secondly, the point that they are trying to make in this movie is still unclear or it’s just that the message was not delivered well. Is this movie about youth problem, or struggling rap artist or kids neglected by their parents or gangster-police movie? It looks like they wanted to cover everything but failed to do so. Usually in a movie, for the first half an hour of the movie, all the introduction of actors and the message will be delivered. They will actually make you understand that what is the whole movie about. We are not like India and we don't have to be like them as well. Why? Because if they have dumb movies like Kuruvi, Villu, Perarasu, Poi etc, on the other end there is good movies to cover that up such as Subramaniyapuram, Paruthi Veeran, Vaaranam Ayiram, Sivaji the Boss, Poo, Ayan, Yavarum Nalam and the list goes on. In Malaysia we cannot afford to do that, we have to deliver good quality movies because we have limited amount of directors in the cine field.

Let’s take our music industry for an example. There was a time where it was going down the drain because no one would want to listen to local song. Thanks to those who made that happen, until the moment where artiste like Dhilip Varman, Saran, SaranZ, Psychomantra, Jay, Lawrence, BoyRadge, Sharmila Sivaguru, Anbarasan, Yogi-B, Charumathi, Bob Nathan, Kashmir Stone and so many of them, whom actually manage to saved our music industry. So just like India, if we have some useless songs like ( fill this space yourself ), we still have someone else who can save it. But for video, we still have a very big gap and long way to improve.

I know we can do this and we will do it together. But first we need to produce a good quality movie, music video, short films to gain viewers confidence before we can actually proceed to make masala movie. Every single individuals who watches local tamil movies, should actually cross out the mentality of comparing Malaysian movie with India movie. In India, they make about 350-500 movies per year, so it’s totally unfair to make such comparison. Bring a budget like Sivaji and give it to the local directors, I bet you, they can make better than that.

All they need is support and feedback. Not only that, the mentality have to be changed. Am I running out of topic now?

So I think the plus point for Aanava Attam would be BGM and Music, Stunt sequence and camera works. The buss for the movie would be the actors, acting and storyline. My rating would be 5/10 but worth the watch.
Please buy original!!

The FAQ’s of Rujjcoomarh

How many of you actually know me well? Apart from my life as a netizen, (aay athe, ithe kathayalleh..naa thaani aale ille, aay) ok enough of that come back to your opener,Rujj. Yes apart from my life as ‘netizen’, some of you are aware of who Rujj is and what does he do. Now I’m running out of words..hey fucc all that, let me get straight to the point, I would like to share something about myself to everyone and I’ve decided to write the FAQ’s of Rujjcoomarh. I hope from here everyone will be able to know me better and stop asking me stupid questions as you will be able to find the answer here.

You may reproduce this article by printing it and paste on your cubicle, your car, home or even toilet. This can be used as a manual or even a quick reference similar to Idiots Guide. So this will be my version of Rujjcoomarh For Dummies ®

1. Why Rujj don't update my blog often?
Because most of the time I’m out of ideas to write and all the time that I will have some idea is when I’m driving or when I’m shitting. So by the time I want to jot it down, I will forget.

2. Why Rujj is so f**kin forgetful?
I don't know if this is true, but most of the people that I’ve talked to told me that I don't concentrate when I talk or listen. That is not true, come on “pilip me”, I do concentrate but of course if you start to crap then I choose to switch off my concentration mode.

3. Why Rujj don't go clubbing often just like his friends?
No money lah. What else. Last time I used to so often because I had no commitments and don't care of how I spend my cash. But now, if I were to get a ‘ais-kosong’ I have to think 10times. Paying for a house worth half a million is not a joke but by the time I realize that, its abit too late. No regrets though. Adding to that, some girls prey on me ahahahahah.. there are too many kids in most of the clubs. Not only in age but in their mind as well. Imagine this a jug will cost you RM50 can pour into 4 mugs. 1 can is equal to 1 mug which means RM6.30 = 1mug. So RM6.30 x 4 mugs = RM25.20. See the how much money they are making? Plus the beer they will mix water and you know how it taste like. If liquor, one bottle will cost you about e.g. RM300. Corkage free, but if you buy outside one bottle is only RM150 or even less if you know where to get it. If you go for 3 for RM10 then it’s even cheaper. Music is too loud you can’t freaking hear what your friend is talking and you can’t even look at any girls because by time you exit the club, there will some dickhead who wanna pick up a fight with you. So for now I only go clubbing when I really have extra money or someone’s birthday or my friends open bottle. Been there done that.

4. Why Rujj don't drive more that 80km/h ?
Firstly if you speed you tend to burn more fuel and my father is not some Sheikh from Dubai to own a oil rig. I drive a Malaysian Hummer, even then sometimes I feel the pinch of pouring more petrol. Secondly, my ‘brother’ died in a road accident and even until now I can see his dead body lying on the road. So it’s not easy to erase that, each time I drive fast that day that scene appears in front of my eyes. I used to drive a 2.0 Special Editing Perdana (Charged) like a mad cow, too bad we have to sell that car. Last but not least, how fast can you drive a damn Kenari? The bloody car flies when I go more than 100km/h. Literally, the tires don’t even touch the road! What? you want to burn the gasket and end up in casket?

5. Why Rujj don't blog too much on socio-politics?
Because I hate politics and I don't have much interest in it. So I choose to refrain myself from writing anything about it but of course there are some suckers who thinks they know everything about politics and talk cock on their blog. Freedom of writing lah konon. Freedom my balls! Don't know don't talk. Plus of course I don't want my ass to end up in ISA. One day when Anwar is PM, I hope he shuts down Kamunting.

6. Why Rujj don't watch football and know nuts about football or any sport of its kind?
I feel the game football doesn't serve any purpose or benefit for human kind. We have seen and read cases where people fighting and dying or getting injured because of football. You can be diehard fan of Manchester united and willing to cut your balls for the team. I get you a ticket to Old Trafford, walk up to Alex Ferguson and see if the fler can recognize you. Watch lah but don't go to an extend of watching it while you eat, shit or even at your honeymoon. I know someone who did it long time ago. I feel damn stupid fighting for a ball with another 11 flers. Try something like Dominos or Mastermind.

7. Why Rujj love watching so many movies?
As a director I need to watch a lot of movies, so that in future when I make one, viewers don't curse me for making stupid movies like Perarasu or movies like Villu, Poi etc

8. Why Rujj don't like to be compared with others?
You see, I am myself. Each of my actions and reactions are well planned and thought over and over again. I make sure whatever I say or whatever I do makes sense and do not trouble anyone. If others can do this and do that, that is his or her problem. I don't give a fucc about it. So don't ferkin compare me with others. I’m always open for feedback and idea’s but don't don't ever compare me with others.

9. What can you present Rujj on his birthday?
Okay this is a bonus question, hehehehe. I love gadgets like iPod Touch, Blackberry etc. So if you are planning to get anything for my birthday let me know first so at least I will tell you what I want of course within your budget.

10. What is the ultimate thing that Rujj would want to do in his life?
Become a Director. Fame and name, status and movies. Yeah that's what I really wanna do, make movie’s and become famous. So I don't have to freakin work on shift and work for someone. Be my own boss, would explain it all.

Letter to Dr. Kalaignar

Bravo to Muthiah.!

***********************************************************************************

Dear Dr.Kalaignar,

Sir, I ' m a Malaysia Tamilan who always want to see our people progress in life. There for I always encourage and share good thoughts with them asspecially to all my friends. Just for your info, the 2nd richest man in Malaysia is an Indian BUT majority of the ORDINARY Indians particularly Tamilan are poor and it is because of few things.

Actually I ' m very very dissapointed and that ' s why I ' m sending this e-mail to you with the hope that you can do something within your ability. The topic that I would like to share with you is regarding one of the reason why ordinary Tamilan ' s mentality cannot progress. And the topic is none other then the TAMIL TV SERIAL. Before that please forgive me for touching this topic.

Sir, nowadays Tv Serial story line already gone above the limits and spreading purely negative things which is similar or equally strong like any "virus" that killing brain cell. Almost all the Tv Serial teaching the publics CLEARLY on how to poisoning others, how to break a happy family, how to commit suicide, how to "hijack" or swindle other people ' s property, how to charm people using black magic, how a husband can deceive his wife, how a wife can deceive her husband, how to kill the baby which is in the mothers stomach, how to "stab" from behind, how to cheat and continue cheating and many other bad things. In serial, I cannot find a house without a bottle of poison.

In all the Tv Serials, the Good People will be brainless or "Vana Muna"(Maximum Idiot) while the Bad People will be Super Intelligent and in most of the situation they will be as though more powerful than Barrack Obama. I think in Chennai itself there are approximately 10 millions people living but in Serial they will make all of us like a bloody fool asthough only 100 people are living in Chennai. I ' m saying this is because everytime when the Crook is looking for someone, so easily he/she can find the people in between of that 10 million Chennai population.

Sir, American Government sending multimillion dollar spy satelite to space but still they cannot trace Osama Bin Laden but in Tv Serial a crook can know precisely whether a newly married couple are/already making love or not...sorry to say this, it ' s really humiliating and very disgusting. And the interesting part is that the crook can know everything from inside his/her house. I think instead of wasting multimillions of dollar on spy satelite, US Government should get this more high tech crook as the replacement for their "useless" spy satelite. I think within 24 hours she/he can traces where Osama Bin Laden exact location is.

Sir, I ' m not sure whether you have any free time but if you have, please do me a big favour. PLEASE watch one of the MOST HUMILIATING (Maha Kevalamana) Tamil Tv Serial. The name of the serial is Vasantham around 1.00pm . The other one is Kasthuri 7.00pm , Therimathi Selvam 1.30pm and many more. The other Tv Serial that can make us vommit blood are, Anantham 7.30pm , Kolangal 9.00pm . These 2 serials been going on for 5 years and now already entering into the 6th year and I think it will be going on for many more years.

The other thing which I really cannot accept in Tamil Tv Serial is on how they mislead and exploit the God and the temple... In certain serial the crook will be discussing and planning all her/his dirty plan and execute it in/from the temple as though they ' re more powerful than the God or as though the God is NOTHING or NOT EXIST.. Sir, as a Hindu, honestly speaking I cannot tolerate this. I leave in a multiracial counrty with other races and partly this is why sometime other religion don ' t respect us eventhough Hinduism is the oldest religion in the world.

There is another area where the Tamil Serial mislead and fooling the society. If you have notice, almost in every serial they (director/producer) have mislead the ordinary people with the NERAM, KALAM, JATHAGAM,SUNIAM, JOSIAM and KELI JOSIAM. They will create a scene where it will indirectly or directly forcing ordinary people to believe it and never ever go against it BUT behind the scene the crooks will be the one using the function of these NERAM, KALAM, KELI JOSIAM, JATHAGAM, SUNIAM and JOSIAM and exploit it in favour of him/her and fooled the good people. Sir, tell me honestly, can you accept this??? Can accept a Parrot to decide your life???

Sir, to be frank to you, personally I don ' t believe in all the things mentioned above. As a Hindu, I believe in GOD and I believe everybody must work hard to achieve anything in their life whether it ' s regarding education, profession, wealth, good health and so on. Today, 99.99% serials mislead and spread the "virus" that not going to help the people particularly ordinary people whom already struggle in their daily life. It ' s not helping him to THINK POSITIVE and TO PROGRESS in their life.

Sir, as I ' ve mentioned earlier, our Hindu Religion is the oldest religion in the world and our Tamil Language already existing for >< 10,000 years BUT we Tamilan don ' t get the respect that we suppost to get further more lot of our "brothers and sisters" are suffering terrribly around the world. I ' m sure you know what I mean by that. To get the respect that we should get, I strongly believe every single Tamilan should be succesful positively in their life asspecially in EDUCATION and PROFESSION then automatically the respect will come to us. UNFORTUNATELY the tv serials are indirectly go against it by mislead the society with all the negative elements which will never make our brain progress. Honestly speaking only our Blood Pressure will go up while watching the tv serials.

At this point I know, anybody will be thinking to tell me off, that "IF DON ' T LIKE THEN DON ' T WATCH, JUST SWITCH OFF THE TV". Sir, as I ' ve mentioned earlier, as a person who want our society to progress positively, I just simply can ' t do that. As for the Tv Serial Producers, Director, Actor, Actress, Technicians and others, they don ' t care about the negative impact that the Tv Serial will give to the public because as for them, more longer they can drag the serial, more money they will get. For some actor and actress they are more happy because they can act in few serials at a time which means they ' re collecting 2 or 3 salaries. So even how stupid the story line is, how unlogical the story line is, how bad impact it give to the society, they just simply don ' t care.

Serial ' s impact is more or less like the Drug. As a responsible person, if I cannot allow drug into my society I also need to react the same towards the Stupid Serials which is spoiling the society in its own way.

Sir, something has to be done other wise the Tv Serials are going to give a very very negative impact to our entire society in the long run. If I ' m not mistaken from Monday till Friday, SunTv has reserved 8 hours to broadcast Mega Serials. So from Minimum 0.5 hours to Maximum 8 hours of our Tamilan ' s life been spent to watch Tv Serial. I ' m not sure about other tv channels.

I ' m aware that we cannot stop this Tv Serial just like that because it ' s involving >< 50,000 people ' s rice bowl from all the categories but at the same time, we also cannot tolerate with the damages such as blood pressure, mental torture and bad influent created by these serials.

Sir, to be honest to you. I ever sent my opinion to e-mail addresses given by ONLY FEW serial producers UNFORTUNATELY there ' s NO REPLY at all. I also ever wrote to some mailing address provided by some of the serial producers but the out come is still the same NO RESPONCE from them. I also ever go to their company website and try to send my e-mail from there but still NO REPLY.

Sir, I have a suggestion that I believe can put a full stop for all these nonsenses. We should set a limit for every single serial. The limit should be ONLY 300 Episodes For Every Serial/Title. I think 300 episodes is more than enough and it can cover for more than a year. All the nonsenses started just because there is no limit and because of that, the director can prolong their stupid story until SEVERAL YEARS like how is happening in Anantham and Kolangal.

I strongly believe ONLY by setting the limit to approximately 300 EPISODES per Title the serial will be an ENTERTAINMENT otherwise if the number of the episode is unlimited it will be the DISASTER for our society. Sir, please do your level best and do it before it ' s too late, before ULSER BECOME CANCER. "PREVENT IS BETTER THEN CURE".

As a responsible Tamilam, I think I ' m doing my part. That ' s all for now. I hope to hear some good news from you soon. Nandri, Vanakam _/\_.
