Elderly man: why do you smoke young man? You youngsters don't know how to take care of your health.
Young man: sorry uncle if I've offended you. That is why I'm standing far away and smoking. It's just that habit.
Elderly man: how do you want to be successful like this? You know there are so many millionaires out there don't smoke. Don't drink. People like you youngsters are totally irresponsible.
Young man: Do you smoke, uncle?
Elderly man: No.
Young man: So I assume your Benz or Bentley is parked at home and you are going to sign a million dollar contract tomorrow?
Elderly man: No
Young man: No? Because that's what I'm here for, waiting for my car to be sent to the airport so that I can meet my business partners to sign the deal. So don't underestimate.
Smoking is bad, no doubt about it. Underestimating someone is equally bad.

I dont quite get it why people hate Ilayathalapthy Vijay
Wait I don't quite get it. Ilayathalapthy Vijay acted in 59 movies in the span of 23 years of acting. Within these years, he has won 25 awards out of nomination of 33, all being for favourite actor (chosen by public) and best actor. This including 3 state awards, which means in average 90% of his movies are either nominated or won.
Additionally he has won best male playback singer. But people still hate him.
Most of his movies were blockbuster hit, biggest opening, 100 days movies, biggest sales etc such as Thullatha Manamum Thullum, Nilave Va, Friends, Gilli, Pokkiri, Katthi, Thuppaki to name a few. But people still hate him.
Apart from acting, singing for 30 songs in his career span, dancing, great humor sense, down to earth, Vijay has his own charity organization called Vijay Makkal Iyakam which silently have been donating and performing various philanthropic activities. But people still hate him.
During downfall period, of course he did some ridiculously disastrous movies such as Thirupachi, Sura, Villu, Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, Kuruvi etc. He rose back from ashes with Vettaikaran which became box office hit and highest grosser of 2009 with 70crores collection. Producer happy, director happy. But people still hate him.

Kids at eateries
Earlier I saw one of my posted on his Facebook saying some complain when kids are given the privilege of using an smartphone or tab at restaurants and at the same time complain if the kids are running around or noisy. Coincidentally I was actually having a real conversation with my good friend on this. He was sharing his experience that he had over the weekend, whereby he took his girl for a nice dinner at a very nice restaurant, ended up with kids running around, noisy, breaking plates and their parents being totally ignorant.
This actually made me to think of how my 4 year old acts when we take him out for dinner or sometimes lunch at any given restaurant. I am sharing with you some tips or rather say what I do to ensure my son doesn’t end up running around and my wife and I being cursed for not raising my son with discipline. Knowing my son, who is extremely hyperactive and always restless, I came out with some ideas which can keep him in one place.
The main reason for kids being naughty, noisy or restless at restaurants is their parents. We can’t compare how kids are raised those days; I’m sure you know it takes lots of guts to be naughty and be always prepared to face the consequences of our actions. Before I start, keep these 2 mantras in mind.
1. Kids are extremely creative and alert. They can make friend with any other kid, they create imaginary characters, and they recall their favorite hero’s actions or be one. They even can a sword out of chopsticks. Mine makes a drumstick.
2. Remember you are the parent; take control of the situation calmly.
Assuming we are at a western restaurant, how my wife and I do this?
1. Bring some toys which don’t make too much noise, bumps or jumps around, shooters and bubbles. Take along stuffs like mini Lego blocks, PlayDoh, few plastic cooking utensils toys
2. Play along with them, ask them to cook an egg for you, use the place mat on the table for them to create PlayDoh figurines.
3. Walk them to wash their hands and make them to use the soap and towels. Tell them why you need to throw them in rubbish.
Start with the food.
4. If they dislike mash potatoes (like my 4 year old) get some cut fruits, Fries. My son loves vegetables, so we give him the broccoli, grilled tomatoes, blanched carrots etc.
5. Give them separate plate, place small amount of food on their plate. Don’t let them play with the food. Tell them some stories, some even play videos on their smartphone or tab. If that helps then why not.
Food finished and you're not done
6. I will tell him “I’m gonna do a magic you want to see?” He gets excited. I do some silly so-called magic tricks which make think I’m Houdini. I just grab a coin and tell him that I will make it disappear. I clench my fist and swing around, open my palm shows him, and voila the coin vanishes. He gets excited. (of course I dropped it between my lap or on the floor without him knowing)
7. Even then go on YouTube check some videos on how to do simple party tricks for kids, how to make origami out of serviettes
8. Carry him or walk him around the restaurant. Show him the bar, show him how the bar tender mixes the drinks, how does he makes a juice. Make him talk to the waiter or say hello to them. Make him order plain water or some juice himself.
9. Get a piece of paper of pen and make him draw circles; tell him you will make it to types of faces. Show him something like a fork or spook, a sauce bottle and make him draw that.
10. If all fails, then you’re left with no choice. Give them the smartphones or tab. Remember at least you are taking an effort to keep them quiet without disturbing other patrons of the restaurant.
I’m not saying this will work all the time, but it worked for us mostly. Of course they are some bad days and we had to deal with it. Every actions and attitude of a kid starts from home.
If he doesn’t sit on a baby chair, that’s because you didn’t train him to do so. If he plays with his food and mess up the table or sometimes the floor, that’s because you did not tell him it’s wrong to play with his food. Get a baby chair from IKEA; make them sit on it during dinner back home. Believe me they will sit quietly at the restaurant.

Copied or Inspired
Everything is inspired from something else. From automobile to complex design, softwares to operating systems and movies are not spared as well.
Recently there were many videos released saying that Kaththi was copied from this movie, that fight scene was from another movie, the song was copied, this was ripped & that was taken. I may agree with that partially, but I do have a question.
If the some scene's in Kaththi (that includes the teaser as well) claimed to be copied, then the same would agree if I say Velu Naicker was 'copied' from Vito Corleone and that inclusive of the hairdo up to the jawbone. The same would also agree if I were to say Jigarthanda was inspired Dirty Carnival with a tweaked second half, of course some scenes from movies like Hitchcock (Siddarth standing outside the theatre hall and counts). Also I dont know if some realise before Life of Pi, there was Duma. The difference was Duma was South Africa with journey on a land whereas Pi was travelling with a tiger on a boat. Both for the same reason.
The list goes on.
So no matter what, some way some how movies will have impacts from current happenings, from another life experience and some times stories. Its end of the day the story telling that matters. That is why, the disclaimer will always be there (though most of us dont actually read it) which says "This is a work of fiction. Events, characters and firms depicted in this movie etc etc..."
Despite all that, I am very sure some will still go on hating not only Vijai but also other movies, finding faults and failed to get entertained. To Vijai haters especially, thank you for your concerns and feedback, now I will go on being his fan and keep watching his blockbusters.

Garuda Puranam
Garuda Purana is one of the great puranas of India. This scripture
contains details of the various punishments given to a person after
death for the sins committed in life. These include Khumbipakam (burned
in oil) and Kirimibhojanam (given as prey to leeches). The scripture
describes about 24 types of death. Some western scholars see this script
as analogous to the judgement day of Christianity
ANT HAKUUBAM
Those who murder pious people and those who cheat divine ones will be sent here. This place is a well filled with dangerous animals, insects, birds & snakes. These creatures will endlessly torture the sinners till their sentence is over.
KIRUMIBOHJANAM
Those who eat food without offering to God will take the form of worms and other worms at this place will bite them
SUNMAALI
Those who flirt will be poked with spiked weapons
PARIBAATHANAM
The drunkards will be sent here. They will be given boiling iron liquid to drink
PANDRI MUGAM
Those rulers/kings who sentence others unjustly and those who torture the weak old people will be sent here. This place looks like a pig's face. Here the keepers of hell will break the sinner's arms and legs. Their bodies will be squeezed in between rollers like sugar cane. At such moment, the sinners will faint without realizing it.
VAJRA GOONDAM
Those who have illegal affairs will be forced to hug burning rods while being whipped.
THAAMISRUM
Those who steal other's wife, property or children will be terribly beaten up by the keepers of hell. The continuous torture will make them semi-conscious, overcome by greater fear and tremendous pain.
ANNATHA THAMISRUM
Those who deceive their life partners by not offering them food, will be tortured here till they look like a lifeless tree. They are made blind for their sins.
RAURAVAM
Those who take away other's property by their cunning speech and those who destroy other families for their own happiness will die as pauper. In hell, those affected by him will take a cruel form then a poisonous snake to punish him. Such sinners will be held in Maha Rauravam till their sentence ends.
KUMBIBAAGAM
Those who do cruelty to birds and animals and those who eat their meat will be pushed into a pot of boiling oil. They will be in it for countless years.
KALASUTHIRAM
Those who chase their parents away will be brought here. This is a place of fire and tremendous heat. Sinners will suffer internally and externally. They will not be given food or water. At such stage, they will be walking, standing and rolling on the floor with great pain.
ASIBATHIRAM
Those who convert to other religions without a good reason will be brought into this forest with sharp knife like leaves. They will be beaten with sharp edge belts. Those running away from them will suffer more cuts from such leaves and stones. Moreover, they will be cut into pieces continuously till their sentence ends.
SAARAMEHYAATHANAM
Those who burned down houses or poison others, those who do mass murders and politicians who destroy countries will be held here. They will be fed on dog meat and in return more than 700 dogs will bite them before they are freed.
AHVISI
top of high place or hill to be pushed down. The hard surface/ground will shatter their bodies into pieces. The hell keepers will gather the bodies together to repeat such punishment again.
SHAARARGARTHAM
Those who disregard other qualified ones or holy ones and those who boasts about themselves while insulting other capable people will brought here. They will be hanged up side down, beaten and tortured by the keepers.
RASHOHGANAM
Those who do human or animal sacrifices in Yagna and those who eat their meat will be brought here. Those killers will be turned to animals and those animals or others killed by them will take human forms. They will tear them apart and eat up their flesh and drink their blood.
SUULAPUROHTHAM
Those who cheat the innocents who trusted them and those who commit suicide by hanging or piercing the trident into their body will be brought here. Tridents and birds with sharp beaks, will pierce them as punishment.
THANTHASUUGAM
This place is infested by poisonous and scary five or seven headed creatures. Those who are brought here will be eaten by them.
VADAAROHTHAM
Those who torture animals or other creatures staying in caves, valleys and webs will be sent here. They will be placed in smoky pits, fire pits and punished by poison.
PARYAAVAATHANAGAM
Those who murmur to themselves by cursing their superiors while having their meals will be sent here. Crows and eagles will poke such sinner's eyes till their eyeball drop off.
SUSIMUGAM
Those who become arrogant about their wealth, those who show hatred to the poor, those who bury or protect their wealth with 'genies' guarding it and those who refuse to return the money borrowed from others will be brought here. Such sinners will be tied with ropes and their bodies will be cut into pieces.
AGNI GOODAM
Those who take away others' things by force will be sent to this chimney like place to be barbecued continuously.
VAITHARANI
Those who offend the 'shastraas' will be pushed into the river filled with blood, pus, flesh, fats, hairs, bones, urine and bowels. They will be bitten till they bleed by the creatures dwelling in it. The sinners will struggle helplessly unable to reach the shore.
POOYOHTHAM
Those who neglect their culture, those who have illicit affairs with low Status women, those who misbehave without self-discipline and those who neglect the right way of living so as to live like free birds or animals will be brought here to eat bowels and to drink blood, urine and pus.
PRINAROHGAM
Those who rear dogs and donkeys and use them for hunting will become targets for arrows shot by the keepers.
VISASNUM
The keepers will whip those who sacrifice cows for the sake of pride.
ANT HAKUUBAM

Mayakam Enna - Facts Not a Review
This time I am not going to write lengthy review or long
points to ponder. I am going to make this very simple and straight forward;
before I could start firstly I would like to thank Selvaraghavan and Dhanush
for giving us such ahead of time movie.
Facts about Mayakam Enna:
- This movie is not about photography or camera or even lenses, so all you photographers don’t get excited
- This movie is about courage and struggle towards achieving your dream
- Yamini is everyone’s dream wife/girl!!
- The movie defines the actual meaning of the line “behind every successful man there is a woman” – indeed!
- We don’t need music or BGM as there are parts where there is total silence with no dialogue. For me that portrays how a human mind can be so defeated by surroundings
- If you watch closely, Yamini is always serious and stern, sometimes cold too. That explains well towards the end because she is THE IRON LADY.
- Richa is excellent for a first timer and if you would have laughed at the part where she was trying to scrub off the blood off the floor, then God save you. You just missed the whole idea of the movie and its message
- We, guys have been in Karthick – Sundar – Yamini triangle before (trust me)
- Yamini is a very practical person.
- Guys should learn a lesson, when a girl needs a shoulder to cry, she ONLY needs your shoulder so don’t take advantage on the situation
- Yamini does not talk to Karthick from the time of abortion until the end of the movie(this is a spoiler mind it)
- You will know the BGM is out of this world when you don’t realize there is a BGM
- This movie is not hero based, it’s about the girl who is there for a man during his up’s and down’s and a woman call WIFE
- In everyone of us, there is karthick swaminathan
- As a photographer, you can use the best camera (5D in this movie) and may have the best lens, but that does not make you the best photographer. It’s the eye of creativity and the way that you look at your subject.
- When someone says you are failure, prove the person is wrong
- Not all your friends are your friends, at times best friends can be your closest enemy
- Alcohol solves friendship issues
- Alcohol fu** up your love relationship
Don’t expect masala or unexpected twist in this movie, it’s a matured movie catered for matured crowd.
So there it goes, all the points that I manage to gather and realize by watching the movie. Of course comparable to 7G Rainbow Colony and Kathal Konden, this is not up to that par. Nevertheless, Mayakam Enna is such a straight from the heart and into your heart kind of movie. You must watch this in the theaters and to those who download or even pirated DVD’s; I hope you rot in hell.

31 DAYS
Day 2
As continued, pre-planning is very important despite if its at early stage or final stage. Based on my experience, getting a venue for the reception dinner is a big task. Start scouting early, start locating few places. You got to make sure that the deposit is ready so that when you find the best place immediately book the place.
We had tough time getting a venue which we ended up in Selayang. Its like on the other end of KL from my place and her place as well yet we had no choice. There are many places you can check out but initially you have to set the number of guest that you are going to invite.
Its all about budget, you may book a normal badminton hall which will only cost around RM500 up to RM3000 but you have to take into count how you are going to setup the place. Your decoration and lighting will transform the place and that will happen if your budget permits. Nowadays easily a good decoration is nothing less than RM10,000. Of course you can find someone cheaper but will it suit your taste and your theme. If you are looking at setting up the place with a theme such as Arabian theme, black and white, Rajashtan theme etc there are very few decorators in town who can do such deco works. Put in your mind that the cost can go sky high unless if you really have a budget. Like mine, my hall is good enough that I do not need to deco, all I have to do is just some deco at the entrance and some stage background and that's it. Mine decorators will be Resh Events Management (suresh) and I know they can do wonders.
During the process of scouting for decorators, we met some companies which they charge to the most ridiculous price you can never imagine. When you question them why, they will come up with all the technical terms that it will sound Greek to you. You as the customer have all the rights to question them on their quality of product and justification for their price. In order to do this, you have to do some research about them too. The one that we met, charged is around RM8,000 for something that can be done within half the price, educating us on the decorations and we rejected the offer they sounded abit rude too but that's okay. I'm sure I am not on the losing side.
Do you research, ask around, collect name cards of decorators especially when you attend any of your friends, neighbors, relatives wedding or their dinner reception, look closely for few things that might interest you.
Here are some tips on identifying good, quality decorators:
- Touch the cloth that they setup on that day. It can be either silk,satin, jersey material or some cheapskate cloth
- Check and see if they use fake flowers or real flowers
- Take note on the color combination i.e are they using different type of combination for instance gold and black, baby pink and off white, navy blue, magenta etc etc. The typical colors of course will be off white and maroon or white and gold.
- You can also check out how they setup the main table (sometimes the caterers will do it for you)
- Check if they sealed the carpet properly, is there any wires hanging around, check if they are using strong frames
- Get the number and meet them personally. Talk to them, from there you will realize if they have good interpersonal skills. This is very important as they are the one who is going to deal with you until the last day of your event.
- Are they able to answer all your questions and are they punctual
After meeting up, you can always ask them when is their next event so that you can drop by to have a look. Its very important to know on what time do they start the setup on the actual day.
So at this point, you have should have booked the hall and start searching for good decorators who worth the money that you are going to pay. Remember they dont have to big or long in the industry, they just have to be disciplined and creative.

31 DAYS
Day 1:
A common question to be asked to a common teenager who have reached late of his twenties is "Are you ready to get married?". I was in an ignorant state thinking I'm way longer to be asked with that question, however without me realizing I am currently at one.
Starting from today 27th September, I have 31 days to the end of my bachelorhood and beginning of the third stage of my life as a married man. Quoting on what Baasha Bai has said

Yes what you read is right, I am getting married on the 27th October. Am I scared or nervous, or am I happy or sad? One cant really define the feeling as for all of it are mixed up. Such a mixed feeling. But I know at the corner of my heart, I am extremely excited and happy to think that I am actually going to spend my life after this with my beloved girl, the love in my heart and the love of my life. All these years me being with her have completed me and matured me, changed the way I looked at the world.
First thing you need to do before you plan for your wedding, you need to know your budget. How much are you willing to spend for your wedding. Is your wedding expenses going to be shared by you or your parents OR your spouse or his/her parents, putting aside all those customs and religious statements. Decide on the budget, this will help you to plan your wedding tremendously. You may also have an idea such as splitting the event for instance like how we are doing it. My wedding will be held on a different date and day, early morning hours. Followed by the dinner reception on the same weekend. By doing this, I am able to invite only my relatives and my closest friends and the people whom we would love to have them in our wedding. According to your preference, its in your hands to limit the crowd. It can be from 50 people up to 200 people, but try not to go more than that.
When you plan as such, you will have less expenses for your wedding, less crowd, more manageable, early morning wedding will just finish with breakfast so your food catering expenses wont fly high to the sky. The rest of your invitees can attend your dinner reception. In my case, I have estimated about 1000 pax to attend my wedding. Of course these ideas may not work our if you are planning for garden wedding, conceptual wedding, theme wedding, beach wedding, underwater wedding, cruise wedding and the list goes on. This more applies to typical Indian temple wedding and a dinner reception to cater for larger crowd.
Once you have fixed your budget, start checking on the best date (suba muhurtham - in tamil) to have your wedding. Of course if you plan to have your wedding and the dinner on the same event, weekends would be the best. Some priest from some temple will tell you you cant have wedding on a Sunday or Saturday, but even in that 2 days there will be a good day. What I am sharing with you is how me and my sweetheart planned for our wedding. Doesn't mean that you have to follow this 100%, just like an idea sharing.
Hindu calendar changes every 6 months if I'm not mistaken, they call it the Vazharpirai and Theipirai. Some people follows exactly to that some don't, its up to the individuals. So lets say you got a perfect date for your wedding and everyone is happy on the date, the next thing you need to do is fix the wedding dinner reception date. In my case, my wedding is on 27th and dinner reception is on that following Saturday. Once the dinner reception date is fixed, this is when the adventure starts.

Ringtone, Dingtone!
p/s: Few moments back I was going through Yahoo news and found an article which attracted me and tickled my humor bone as well. The excerpts “It says that the use of "Allah" by Christians could cause confusion among Muslims and encourage religious conversion, which is illegal in Malaysia.” Dey come on lar, are you all for real or what? First thing how can usage of a word change a person’s mind and his thinking towards his own religion which he/she have been practicing for the past donkey years. Secondly since when conversion is illegal in Malaysia? Thirdly if you dick jerkers think that throwing Molotov and stones can actually change the fact, dude you are wrong. All god is one and one god for all. So stop being that shiteating morons and use your minuscule organ called as brain to think how can we live in harmony. Ok I am not going to continue talking about this as this whole article is not about the church burning incident and did I mentioned that I have stopped writing political related articles? Yes, I choose to refrain myself from writing political related articles as I realized that with brains full of tanah-liat, we won’t be able to inject a single drop of sense into them so Rujj why waste time?
Ok now the real deal article. Ringtone. Yes effin ringtone. As now the technology have advanced so much you can just transfer the whole .mp3 as your ringtone. I don't know how many of you realized that there are some “dickyLornaz” who just love to put their ringtone so effin loud till it can be heard from the next building. In my office there are some fler(s) who will put their ringtone so loud where at time I just feel like walking to them and shove the bloody phone up their arse. Anal is fun at time, bytch! If you know that you are in office or meeting, for god’s sake put your phone to silent. We do not want to hear your distorted 50cents In Da Club blasting while in office or meeting. Even worse sometimes, these flers will actually take out the phone out of their pocket and adjust his glasses and keep staring at their phone. Know why? Effin tryin to figure out who’s number is it. This practice is common among some old uncles. You have to answer the phone to know who is calling unless you are making a video call. The technology is not that advanced yet for you to know who is calling from an unknown number. By the time you answer your phone, it will stop ringing and the whole circle starts back again. Believe me though if you have nice ringtone it’s nice to hear but not more than 10 times for the least.
I have plentiful collection of all the songs, so I don't want hear your ringtone. It’s not a cherishable moment. If we are attending a meeting, we are obliged to put our phone to silent or discreet mode. Not only at meetings, maybe some discussions, speech, seminars, cultural shows etc. Based on my experience attending some seminars and talks, before it starts we will be informed to either switch off the phone or change to discreet mode. All of a sudden in the middle of the class or seminar, there will be some Andy Lau ringtone or some shitnoise Pink song ringtone which can breaks my ear drum, goes off. Effker, its killing me! Don't you understand simple English? Put your phone to silent mode! Though I don't do that in my office but at least I will have separate settings on my phone where when I’m in office I will change to meeting mode so the ringtone and SMS tone will be soft just for me to hear it. Can’t you all like do that or your phone is too effked up till there is no settings as such. If you answer yes to this, my best advice would be use your phone as vibrator, or at least a dildo.
I still remember there was I went to a temple, I can’t remember which one as I have visited too many temple and I am a holy person.LOL. On one of the pillars in the temple, there was notice saying “Please do not use your phone in temple unless if you are calling god.” Can you beat that!! That is one good stuff. We should come up with ruling, if your ringtone irritates me then I can take the phone and shove up your mouth for girls and arse for guys. Nah kau L**nca*!
You know right that you won’t be able to get the actual quality one a song when you upload to your phone as the reading bytes for PC and mobile phones is different. That is reason you will find the hissing sound and terrible distortion on your ringtone once you have upload the song to your phone and that is when people like me gets irritated. So the next you would ever want to use a song as an mp3 please think twice and be considerate to others. If you are someone from my office and reading this, I hope we will still maintain our relationship as working colleagues because the last thing I want to have some shit argument with you regarding your ringtone and the last thing you would ever want to hear from me is some vulgar scriptures which I can keep it flowing without stop. Or worst case scenario I will get the lifeless-dickjerkers to throw some Molotov on your face. Satu Malaysia!

2009 - 2010 : Happy New Year
I know it have been ages since I wrote and it’s pathetically the same line that I use each time I start writing my blog post. “It's been a while since I blogged, it’s been a while since I wrote anything, it’s been ages since I wrote anything, sorry guys blah blah blah”
However this leads me to insert regular blog post as part of my 2010 resolution. As I blogged before, this is going to be my wish list for 2010 and a recap on 2009.
From my previous post here, I have managed to accomplish at least some of items which I have listed and i'm quite happy about it too. It was not an easy task but I have managed to complete it. Here goes the list:
If you go through the list you will find that there are some resolutions that I have decided to postpone. Come to think about it those resolutions is something that is not necessary for the moment hence I have decided to either postpone it or call it off once and for all. Below are some of the 2009 items/activities which I have completed without planning or list in my wish list. Some are just meant to happen just like that and some are pre-planned.
So have you all read my post mortem for the year of 2009, I may have missed some points or events intentionally. Looking forward for 2010 as norm I have a list which I hope that I could accomplish by end of the year. This year going to be an excellent year for me on every aspect and will be a life changing one too. Here goes my wish list for 2010:
So I hope that I could reach my goals and tick off my wish list before end of 2010. Not forgetting to all my enemies, well wishers, readers and followers, I will make sure that I will blog regularly and keep my post updated to the most. I shall not repeat my mistakes again.

However this leads me to insert regular blog post as part of my 2010 resolution. As I blogged before, this is going to be my wish list for 2010 and a recap on 2009.
From my previous post here, I have managed to accomplish at least some of items which I have listed and i'm quite happy about it too. It was not an easy task but I have managed to complete it. Here goes the list:
- Get a DSLR - DONE
- Change my car (City/Civic/Lancer/Wish/X-Trail) – Cancelled as it’s not practical based on my economical status.
- Fly to Australia or New Zealand but this time for real holiday – Change of course to India
- Get a Blackberry – Changed my mind to Sony Ericsson Satio
- Buy another house – Not needed and practical
- Register rujjcoomarh.com - Postponed
- Complete SAP - Postponed
- To direct at least 5 music videos - DIRECTED 3 – Few more under discussion
- To complete at least 2 short movies - COMPLETED 1, postponed other projects due to photography interest and learning process
- Prepare a full length story to shoot – Postponed until further notice
If you go through the list you will find that there are some resolutions that I have decided to postpone. Come to think about it those resolutions is something that is not necessary for the moment hence I have decided to either postpone it or call it off once and for all. Below are some of the 2009 items/activities which I have completed without planning or list in my wish list. Some are just meant to happen just like that and some are pre-planned.
- Going to India – This trip was all of a sudden as I have thought of going to India anytime. But after stepping my foot in India, I was so astonished and mesmerized with the country and its people. Aint no joke they call the place Incredible India.
- Getting more active with photography – I have to thank Vickneswaran for this. He has helped me so much in creating the interest of photography in me and at the same time he was never stingy in sharing all his knowledge with me. One thing I like about Vicky is he was never angry or irritated over my numerous idiotic questions on technicality of photography and its details. Thanks Brotha! Hidup VIP Studios!
- Meeting Venkat Prabhu, Premji Amaren, Aravind Akash, Sampath and the whole team of Goa and become really good friends – This I have to thanks Devan and Jay. Never in my dream have ever dreamt that I would meet these people and experience the whole movie shoot. It has made me learn a lot of stuff technically and practically on movie making. We became so close that we will call each other to well wish.
- Learning how a full length feature film is made from Sakthi Saravanan sir. One of the most talented and award winning cinematographer cum cameraman in India. He is one of the best I would say. I hope to meet PC Sreeram sir one day
- Meeting allot more people who have helped and going to help me in my interest of direction, cinematography and photography.
- Join Fitness First. Hahah this was totally unplanned and but I have my target.
- Recent photography workshop with Karthik Venkatraman - DOP of Maniratnam and Asst Cameraman of PC Sreeram. He has actually changed the way I look at things and I have never seen such a humble but knowledgeable person yet he is so young. I do not want to compare with some. P/s: you want to see his work, check out some photos of Paa the Movie (Amitabh and Abishek Bachans new movie)
- Moving into my own house finally and it was like a dream come true.
- Last but not least MahLeh - As I have mentioned before I just do not how to thank all the people who have helped me in completing Mahleh but it was a life changing experience.
So have you all read my post mortem for the year of 2009, I may have missed some points or events intentionally. Looking forward for 2010 as norm I have a list which I hope that I could accomplish by end of the year. This year going to be an excellent year for me on every aspect and will be a life changing one too. Here goes my wish list for 2010:
- BLOG REGULARLY!
- Invest and get more lenses for my camera
- Direct at least 3 short movies and send for entries at least one
- Rujjcoomarh.com
- Change my car
- Move on with career
- Revamp and rebrand Arkay Productions (on going now)
- Complete my Direction/Cinematography course
- Expand the network of Arkay Productions
- Undisclosed plans
So I hope that I could reach my goals and tick off my wish list before end of 2010. Not forgetting to all my enemies, well wishers, readers and followers, I will make sure that I will blog regularly and keep my post updated to the most. I shall not repeat my mistakes again.

Astro’s apathy putting customers’ lives in danger

MY Astro service was giving me problems as there were no images. I called Astro Customer Services and they assured me that their technician would return my call.
They gave me the report number, saying that it was essential for the technician to quote the number before making an appointment with me and entering my premises.
The Astro technician called me and read back the report number and informed me when he would come by to check on the problems. I was comforted by that.
At the first scheduled appointment he did not show up. This caused me problems as I had taken a day’s leave for the technician.
I called the same technician and made another appointment for the next day. Again I took a day’s leave and fortunately, he showed up.
He quoted the report number. Astro Customer Services had assured me that the one who got the number correct would be the authorised technician.
He took several hours as in midway he had to go to get the remote as he claimed he had not brought it with him. Another full day went to waste.
He did some repairs and charged me a certain amount. But, then that night, my television programmes had technical problems again.
I called Astro and they said they did not know who the technician was that came to my place and assigned me a new technician. I had to apply for leave a third time.
The new technician said the previous technician was an intruder. My life and that of my children’s were actually at stake. Astro took the matter lightly.
The new technician even said he was aware of such an intruder but could not pinpoint the leak in Astro. He even mentioned the bogus technician’s name.I was even further shocked when the technician told me that Astro was aware of the bogus technician who had done several dodgy jobs for Astro customers.
When I checked with Customer Services, they reluctantly admitted that they were aware of the bogus technician for some months now.
I am shocked that Astro did not take the necessary safety measures to safeguard its customers.
To make matters worse, Astro Customer Services personnel said they have to get approval from higher ups to reimburse the money I paid the bogus technician.I had to take three days leave and had to live with the fact that my family and I could have been robbed, raped or even murdered as a result of Astro’s negligence.
It is pointless for Astro to keep raising their fees when they provide such bad service and put their customers’ lives at risk of danger. To add insult to injury, it does not seem to care.

A big thank you Guys!
This post is a thank you note or I would say an appreciation note to everyone who has helped me in making Mahleh possible.
Firstly I would like to thank my family, my sister and my other half Ammu kutty.

Jay and Vignesh - helping me throughout the shoot. To act under my direction with no payment heheheh and manage to put up with all my nonsense and Vignesh for the story idea, ya maan!

Rajboy Arumugam – Bro words just can describe how much you have helped me. Though I known you a very short period of time, you actually sat with me for almost 7hours for the music session and making Hanusha to sing. There are some people who claimed to be our friend but we realised it was the other way around.
Kelvin Anthony – Macha thanks a lot for capturing for me. You always been there when I needed advise and help from you macha.
MC Bullet of Bullet Productions – Helping me to design Mahleh poster. I just don’t know how to repay you brotha, One Love.

For all my friends how have been supporting me and encouraging me to make this movie. Though this was planned and written in like 2 hours, we manage to pull it out and this wouldn’t have happen without you guys.
I would like to apologise sincerely as Mahleh didn’t make it to be one of the finalist in Astro Vellithirai Short Movie contest. But this is not the end. Failure is the first step for success!
Last but not least for all those who are disturbed and angered over our effort in making our local film industry shift to another level, to those who hates me personally and professionally, enemies, to those who think the world belongs to them, to those who assumes that you are in control. To some whom I dared and felt threatened. Let me tell you this, I know you guys will be laughing and making fun of my first short movie and also for not being listed as the finalist after all the hype created, I don’t two ferks bout you!
